Call for mediation panel members

Mediation helps small businesses, landlords and other parties to resolve disputes

9 November, 2023

The NSW Small Business Commissioner is calling on accredited mediators, particularly those with experience in retail lease disputes, to apply for a position on its mediation panel.

The Commission’s mediation service assists small businesses, landlords and other parties to resolve business and leasing disputes, avoiding lengthy and costly court action.

The mediation panel will operate for three years, with the option of a one-year extension.

Panel members will be selected based on their suitability and ability to conduct a mediation involving small businesses in commercial disputes with other small businesses, large businesses and government agencies.

Experience mediating retail lease disputes as required under the Retail Leases Act 1994 will be viewed favourably.

You must be accredited under the National Mediator Accreditation System, with your name on the Mediator Standards Board list - Register of Nationally Accredited Mediators (msb.org.au).

We are committed to having an inclusive and diverse panel of mediators that represents the community we serve.

Applications close 10am (AEDT) Wednesday 17 January 2024.
