COVID-19 reinfection period reduced from 12 to 4 weeks
Those with symptoms after this time will have to re-test

The NSW Government has reduced the COVID-19 reinfection period from 12 to 4 weeks.
This means that those who have had COVID and are still experiencing symptoms 4 weeks after their isolation period ended will have to re-test for the disease.
People who test positive again will be reported and managed as new cases.
The new Public Health Order, Public Health (COVID-19 Self-Isolation) Order (No 2) Amendment (No 1) Order 2022 commenced on Tuesday 12 July.
