COVID measures for hospitality venues
The measures will take effect from 8 January – 27 January
7 January, 2022
Singing and dancing will be prohibited in hospitality venues (including pubs, clubs, nightclubs, bars, and restaurants), entertainment facilities, and major recreation facilities. These additional restrictions in social settings will take effect from 8 January – 27 January.
This prohibition will not apply for weddings, or for students and instructors and performers in the settings listed above.
The NSW Government is encouraging individuals to take extra precautions in social settings to reduce their risk of contracting Covid-19. This includes recommending:
- limiting large household gatherings and gather outdoors where possible; and
- for individuals to stay seated when drinking in hospitality venues.
