July update from the Commissioner
Small Business Month kicks off in November
6 July, 2022
I am delighted to confirm the second NSW Small Business Month for 2022 will be held in November. Grants are available to host an event as part of NSW Small Business Month. Check out the guidelines and make sure your grant application is in by the closing date of 5 August 2022.
Eligible organisations can also sign up as a Small Business Month Collaboration Partner.
Small businesses have missed out on opportunities to meet and make valuable connections during the past two years so it’s great to be able to offer them another forum in 2022 to get together with experts, industry leaders and other small businesses.
I encourage eligible organisations who have a valuable contribution to make to small businesses to apply for a grant or sign on as a Collaboration Partner.
This month we launch our new guide to mediation and resolving business disputes. Disputes are an often unavoidable part of doing business and being able to get them resolved efficiently and move on is vital to long term success in business. The guide will help businesses understand how mediation works and why it is a highly effective option and much less costly and time consuming than going to court.
The beginning of each new financial year usually involves new obligations and requirements on business, however, I encourage you to also take the time to set some new goals for your business and please reach out to us if we can offer you assistance.
