Regulatory policy-making review: Consultation feedback released

Small business stakeholders provide their suggestions to improve ways to improve regulatory and policy-making processes

22 August, 2024

The Commission has published a summary of consultation feedback we heard from small business stakeholders as part of our Review of small business experiences with regulatory policy-making.

The Commission is examining the experiences of small businesses as key stakeholders when new legislation, regulations, rules and other requirements are being developed. As part of the review, the Commission sought feedback from small businesses, industry groups, peak bodies and other stakeholders about their experiences with regulation in NSW, with more than 1,000 stakeholders providing feedback as part of the review.

The Commission is also working with the Small Business Reference Group, which comprises of key small business stakeholders and representatives, to discuss key findings and areas for further exploration.

The NSW small business community highlighted ways to improve small business engagement in regulatory and policy-making processes, and this feedback will be incorporated into findings and recommendations made as part of the review.

The Commission continues to consider feedback provided and is working towards finalising the review by the end of 2024.
