Griffith City Council – The Better Business Seminar
As part of the NSW Government Business Connect Initiative, small to medium sized businesses in Griffith and Leeton were invited to attend a lively and practical workshop to learn new tips and strategies to help them get more from their customers, time and revenue.
Background
The workshop was presented by Robert Gerrish, the founder of Flying Solo, Australia’s largest community of small businesses.
The overall purpose of the workshop was to encourage innovative thinking in the workplace and understand the importance of prioritising and training.
The workshop covered:
- A new way to recognise and attract the ideal customers for the business
- Strategies to get the best fees and build a stronger, healthier business
- Tools to help businesses work efficiently and effectively
Outcomes and results
Leah Walsh from The Articulate Pear, a marketing and PR business, attended the seminar hoping to learn new strategies.
Ms Walsh commented that she was able to use the seminar as a networking opportunity with another small business operator assisting a current client of theirs, and in turn, creating more business.
Ms Walsh further commented that "Robert Gerrish of The Better Business Workshop was an engaging and entertaining presenter and gave us some practical tips for thinking outside the square when operating a business. It was also a great opportunity to hear about the experiences of other local business owners."
