Clarence Valley Business Leaders Breakfast with Clarence Valley Council, Business NSW and Grafton Chamber of Commerce
The Clarence Valley Business Leaders Breakfast brought together 35 business leaders from across the Clarence Valley for a morning of insightful discussions and shared experiences. The event featured a panel of three generational businesses, sharing reflections on navigating family business challenges and adapting leadership styles across generations. Council joined the conversation to reinforce the importance of supporting local businesses for economic growth in the area.
Naggangbi Business Connect – a First Nations Business Forum with Bayside Council
Bayside Council held a First Nations Business Forum with organisations including YARPA, Supply Nation, Many Rivers, First Innovators, NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce and Indigenous Business Australia available for local first nations businesses to learn how to grow ideas and find available support. In addition, a panel session of successful first nations business owners shared their stories, tips and insights to the 60 attendees present.
Meet me in Nowra with the NSW Small Business Commission
The NSW Small Business Commission hosted a breakfast event in Nowra to a full room of 40 attendees. In collaboration with Regional Development Australia Illawarra Shoalhaven, the morning consisted of a keynote by the NSW Small Business Commissioner on the small business landscape in New South Wales, and a panel session of local small business success stories. This was followed by networking where attendees could connect with each other and the speakers.
Cumberland City Converge with Cumberland City Council and Greater Cumberland Chamber of Commerce
Cumberland City Council joined forces with Greater Cumberland Chamber of Commerce to host an event for 120 attendees featuring two keynote speakers - Ravi Singh, co-founder and CEO of Kickin’ Inn Australia and Carla Dias Wadewitz, Senior Manager Innovation and Strategy at Western Sydney University. The event also included a panel session of local business owners and experts. Organisers received high praise with attendees making connections throughout the event.
Crafting the Perfect Elevator Pitch with Wollondilly Women in Business, The Unleashed Collective, Ink Business and SaigenThyme
Sixteen participants attended this actively engaging workshop on perfecting a concise, compelling and memorable elevator pitch for their business. In a joint collaboration of four local organisations, the event was a great success, with feedback highlighting the fantastic facilitators and invaluable learning opportunity.
Lunch N Learn Communication Connect with CBD Sydney Chamber of Commerce
The CBD Sydney Chamber of Commerce held a highly collaborative Lunch N Learn Communication Connect session with 26 small business participants from the creative, media, digital and communication industries. Attendees were asked to provide examples of their work beforehand which were compiled into a video that was used to open the event. This was followed by introductions around the room and then small group discussions, resulting in a lively and engaging time for attendees.
Becoming Rebookable with Willoughby City Council
Willoughby City Council ran a business lunch and learn workshop for 20 local small businesses on becoming rebookable. The aim was to teach drop-in service business owners the essential sales and interpersonal skills to ensure clients return again and again. It was a very interactive, robust workshop including role-play for attendees. Feedback praised the presenter, Brook McCarthy, and the networking opportunities.
Circular Foods Pathways Launch with Better Business Partnership
The Better Business Partnership launched its Circular Food Pathways program in October – a business partnership food waste reduction program supported by the NSW Environmental Protection Authority. The launch and networking session was attended by 80 small business owners and their teams and officials from the Better Business Partnership partner councils - Willoughby City Council, North Sydney Council and Ku-ring-gai Council.
Going for Growth Masterclass with Navarra Venues, Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, Business NSW and Showtime Productions
Seventy small business owners attended the Going for Growth Masterclass in Western Sydney. The event featured an expert panel with Julian Fayad the founder and CEO of LoanOptions.ai, Margaux Everett the founder and CEO of the Australian Museum of Design and Eric Tjoeng the founder and CEO of Business Growth and Exit Specialists. With a show of hands at the end of the panel, every attendee confirmed they had picked up at least one tip, concept or innovation that they were keen to apply to their own business.
